    The Asst. Riverboat Superintendent is responsible for managing the casino vessel systems ensuring compliance with all applicable USCG legal requirements, and regulations and the policies/procedures of L’Auberge Lake Charles. The Asst. Riverboat Superintendent in this position is also responsible for serving both the external and internal customers by providing a clean, friendly and safe atmosphere on the vessel.

    Responsibilities

    (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)

     

    1. Update and manage ongoing preventive maintenance program. 
    2. Communicate and work hand in hand with Riverboat Superintendent.
    3. Keeping all logs up to date throughout your watch as tasks are completed.             
    4. Keep all systems up to regulations and demonstrate all tests as required by quarterly USCG inspections.
    5. Manage, discipline, and review in accordance to company policy all engineering employees on your watch. 
    6. Plan, manage and successfully execute ongoing projects in the casino.
    • Ability to create or read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondence and process needed reports.  Ability to speak effectively with customers and/or employees.
    • Ability to create or carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems and implement effective solutions.
    • Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization required to perform job responsibilities.  Ability to work in a drug free environment and pass a chemical dependency test as required.
    • May be exposed to strong fumes, waste materials or toxins. 
    • This position operates in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, cold, heat, humidity, vibration, crowds, and smoke.

    What are we looking for?

    • Excellent managerial skills
    • Must have superior mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and HVAC skills.
    • Computer literacy in Microsoft office software.
    • Excellent career record in the marine industry.

    These skills and abilities are typically acquired through 10 years experience as a Marine Engineer demonstrating the ability to handle growing levels of responsibility.

    In addition, a USCG license endorsed as Chief Engineer of Motor Vessels of at least 4000 Horsepower upon the Great Lakes, Near Coastal Waters, Oceans or equivalent and a Universal HVAC certification.
