  • What would I be doing?

    Under general supervision, provide general support to bartenders and food servers ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adequate stock levels of products and supplies pertinent to completing duties properly; duties will include, but not limited to all responsibilities below and other duties assigned by management. 

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way.  Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor.  Be polite and courteous when speaking with guests and team members.  Look for and act upon opportunities to assist guests and team members.  Be sincere and genuine during all interactions.  Be prepared with the knowledge and skill required to be responsive to guests and team members’ needs and questions.
    • Answer guest questions about Ameristar East Chicago restaurants including operating hours and answer general questions about property facility and services.
    • Knowledgably converse with guests regarding unique Stadium sports memorabilia.
    • Familiar with Stadium beer menu, including styles descriptions, and able to assist guests with appropriate pairings.
    • From memory, suggest signature cocktails to guests using ingredients and flavor descriptions.
    • Familiar with Stadium food menu, including description, price, add-ons and able to assist guests alcohol pairing.
    • Assist bartenders and food servers with various tasks such as, clean and stock glassware, ashtrays, utensils, and bar equipment; arrange liquor bottles, beer, fruit trays, and glassware to assure that the bar environment is perceived as clean, organized, and attractive; slice and pit fruit for garnished drinks; continuously replenish fruit trays; stock liquor, beers, and wines; provide change when needed; and assist with cleanliness of bar work areas and tables; produce and complete par lists to requisition liquor and supplies; maintain dining room by collecting used glassware, silverware, dishes, ashtrays and debris;
    • Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment and napkin containers; clean and stock ashtrays.
    • Use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe and effective manner; transport bus tubs, carts and trash cans to dishwashing area.
    • Participate in liquor glassware removal, ensuring compliance with all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations and Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission regulations.
    • Abide by all State, State Gaming, Federal and Corporate liquor Regulations. Also pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
    • Discretely clear individual settings from guest tables and table tops as each course is completed.
    • Limit problems related to guests’ alcohol consumption by providing responsible alcohol service, as taught in the responsible alcohol certification course.
    • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, hours of operations, proper table set-up.
    • Must maintain proper uniform requirements of the position including wearing special event uniforms provided for Holidays and other special occasions deemed by management.
    • Maintain a well-groomed, neat, clean appearance, in accordance with established appearance policy.
    • Assist as requested with special events on and off property.
    • Observe and adhere to Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, and cleanliness of work environment.
    • Attend all company/restaurant training programs as they are scheduled.
    • Assist kitchen personnel with the unloading and cleaning of bus tubs and carts.
    • Provide additional settings, utensils and condiments as needed or requested.
    • Complete opening, closing and other side duties as assigned by the supervisors.
    • Collect and accurately report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
    • Resiliently deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and work harmoniously with coworkers.
    • Perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.
    • Perform all duties as assigned by management.  

    What are we looking for?

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external guests effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume restaurant.
    • Must be able to pass all Stadium Back Server training tests.
    • Must be able to obtain a valid Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission Liquor Permit prior to the commencement of employment.
    • Must be able to learn, retain and apply on the job, all knowledge taught in Stadium Back Service training, including but not limited to Stadium sports memorabilia, beer menus, cocktail & food menus and all service standards.
    • High volume related food service experience preferred.
