  • What would I be doing?

    As a Convention Services Planner you are responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and team members, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force.  The Convention Services Planner is responsible for executing all service details for groups and representing the property to group officials in accordance with signed contracts and clients’ needs.  Initial contact for all group leaders and liaison with the client and internal departments in executing all details for groups to ensure clients’ service expectations are met and Company image is appropriately represented.  Actively develops and retains new and existing clients through proactive guest interactions; responsible for follow-up with clients, regular on-going phone calls, and meeting with clients on a regular “on-call” basis during various shifts as required.

    Responsibilities

    1. Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to have L’Auberge Casino Resort as their resort/hotel of choice; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other team members in order to provide superior guest service.
    2. Contacts client-meeting planners’ daily (verbal or written) to establish a schedule of communications. Discuss group’s arrival, departure, function services, off-property functions and cross-sells amenities of property when appropriate and according to written and signed contacts.
    3. Recommends cross-selling options to enhance the guest experience.
    4. Communicates and follows though daily with all hotel service departments to ensure that all changes are being fulfilled according to client’s specifications.
    5. Greets group representatives upon arrival and reviews all pertinent function locations and other features and amenities of Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc., as well as of site venues.
    6. Maintains close communication with the client and is responsible for proactive resolution to all client concerns to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.
    7. Participates in the development of group sales revenue budget.
    8. Participates in training, operational, sales and inter-department meetings as requested.
    9. Manages up-to-date group files with appropriate checklist form, call sheets, correspondence letters, and meeting planner questionnaires and thank you correspondence.
    10. Manages room blocks, deadline dates, credit applications, receipt of deposits, and all contractual issues.
    11. Develops player base by cross-selling and promoting mychoice to qualified gaming guests when applicable; invites clients and guests to utilize the tier level benefits of mychoice to develop customer loyalty.

    What are we looking for?

    • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position including Hotel Batch system, computer keyboard, telephone and Delphi Sales System.
    • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary reports and documentation.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of team members.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas.
    • This position spends time standing and walking back and forth through the hotel property, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon guest volume.

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Typing and computer skills required. 
    • Strong organization skills and detail-oriented.
    • Excellent written, verbal communication and guest service skills.
    • Sales experience is preferable.
