  • What would I be doing?

    The P&A Manager is responsible for analyzing the financial and operational effectiveness of casino, hotel, marketing and food and beverage operations. The P&A Manage is also responsible for performing difficult and complex financial analyses, including the return on investments.  Responsible for planning policies and procedures. Assists in preparation and analysis of the annual operating budget and capital budgets. The P&A Manager will report to the Finance Controller and will directly supervise the Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Analyst team members.


    • Responsible for actively building and retaining internal customer relationships and acts as a mentor to other team members and coworkers in order to provide superior customer service.
    • Prepares complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action.
    • Facilitate end of month close process for the property in conjunction with other finance leaders.
    • Reviews costs of operation, identifies trends and recommends improvements and cost-savings opportunities with department heads.
    • Analyzes marketing programs in order to determine the effectiveness of marketing efforts as measured by revenue generated compared to operating cost.
    • Compilation of multiple monthly presentations.
    • Prepares market share, casino events, labor analysis reports and other reports.
    • Oversee and / or perform any ad-hoc analysis necessary to improve business operations and assist other departments with more complex analytical needs.
    • Coordinates and administers the annual capital and operating budgeting process in order to provide accurate budget information to various departments and the delivery of final budget for company financial planning.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    • Strong understanding of statistics, budgets, forecasts, and financial statements
    • Fully competent in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong numerical or statistical aptitude.
    • Strong technical skills and ability to query and analyze data.
    • Experience with Tableau, Showcase, Timeline, Oracle PBCS, and Oasis preferred.
    • Must be able to meet required deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential information disclosed by an Ameristar entity.
    • Maintains a positive attitude at all times, offering well reasoned and factual information whether in support of or in challenge to existing practices; This person must have the ability to both challenge and have conclusions challenged in an open conversation with candor and modify opinions to match empirical results.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant field of study.
    • Three or more (3+) years of applicable analytical experience required.
    • One or more (1+) year supervisory experience required.
    • One or more (1+) year of casino or related industry experience preferred.
    • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Support Gaming License.
